Objectives
The project aim is to address the need to have and include scalable models of passive components accurate for mmWave frequencies up to 200 GHz in standard EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools.
The main specific objectives of the project are:
- To develop lumped-circuit model topologies for passive components of mmWave radar ICs suitable to capture all effects in the mentioned frequency range. The lumped model topologies will be developed for inductors and transformers, most frequently used type of the passive components in ICs.
- To develop the methods/procedures for extracting/calculating the parameters of the lumped-circuit models based on EM simulated S-parameters for all topologies considered in the previous step.
- To add scalability against the device geometry in the lumped-circuit models by applying the AI-based techniques for all considered passive components.
- To implement the developed AI-based scalable models of passive components in at least one EDA tool (Cadence).
- To design a mmWave IC, using the developed AI-based models of passive components. A suitable mmWave radar IC (low-noise amplifier) will be designed.
